So we have a chipper/shredder. We used to have lots and lots of very tall trees in our yard which would drop minivan-sized branches all over our yard when the wind blew too hard, or it rained, or if you looked at them cross-eyed. Which is why a good family friend decided to give us her old chipper/shredder.

This was a very nice thing for said friend to do and we were very thankful to have leveled-up to grade 12 chipping/shredding abilities. There was only one slight problem with the chipper/shredder:

We were both terrified to use it.

Now I’m not some pansy-assed, citified, girly-girl that cannot even stomach the occasion rat sighting.

(which is an interesting dichotomy if you think about it. I mean really, where do you find most of your larger and more surly rats but in a city?) (more…)
