Just what the hell do you spiders think you are doing? Have I not acted in your best interest this season? Have I not adhered strictly to the etiquette guidelines as published earlier on this very website? I have not killed a single on of you on purpose even when I’ve found myself laid our flat on the walkway after having a near death experience with garden spider in my face.
Each time I have left my house in the past three weeks I have been accosted by spider webs at every turn. Down the path to the driveway? Spider webs in my hair. Trying to water the plants? Spider webs all over my damn arms. I look out the (more…)

Today we played hooky from work to celebrate our anniversary with a day of illicit movie watching and some yummy lunch. Okay, that sounded bad. They weren’t illicit movies we were watching, we went to see SuperBad. I’ll let Brian give you the review of it because, well, that’s more his realm. Plus, he liked it more than I did.
Brian, ever the romantic, wanted to make sure our celebration day was perfect. He pouted a bit when I suggested we eat at the Pho counter in the market (he wanted to take me to a nice sit-down meal) but cheered up after we bought the chocolate linguini and raspberries for dessert. I personally, can not wait to try it out.
By far the best part of each day is the moment when I pick up the Catfish from day care. He gets so excited that he literally jumps up and down with glee. And since Brian and I had spent the day together we were able to go together to pick up the boy. Because we had taken a bus downtown instead of driving we were then able to treat Catfish to one of his favorite activities in the whole world: a 12 block bus ride home. He gets so ecstatic about taking a bus anywhere that usually he cannot speak while on the bus and for several minutes after we disembark. By then he usually just mutters the word “fun” over and over until he can concentrate on something else besides the sheer awesomeness of the city bus. (more…)
